MSP Transmission Portal

The HPS Medicare Secondary Payer Transmission Portal allows each Group Health Plan (GHP) that is responsible reporting entity (RRE) to submit the eligibility information about employees and dependents to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Coordination of Benefits Contractor (CMS COBC) to get the Medicare entitlement information for those individuals in the GHP that can be identified as Medicare beneficiaries. This mutual data exchange helps to assure that claims will be paid by the appropriate organization at the first billing itself. This portal allows the GHP to send the eligibility files on a quarterly basis to CMS with the required protecting encryption and to receive the response files in a readable format.
